Soft-Skill Building Workshops

Be a part of a subject-specific workshop affecting your organizational culture and the ability of your employees to thrive. All workshops are held virtually, are 90 minutes long and based on Spring Lab research and findings.

  • The ability to negotiate helps us flourish in the workplace, increases our span of influence, enables us to have difficult conversations effectively, and creates a stronger sense of self value. In this workshop, you will:

    • Develop an understanding of the art of negotiation and the critical reasons for building this skill

    • Learn frameworks and techniques for effectively negotiating things like: recognition, project assignment, access to leadership and mentorship, learning and development opportunities, promotions and compensation

  • In a remote or hybrid world, it is harder to passively create a personal network. Yet it is more important than ever to do so, especially in a highly competitive job market. You want a job with a company that aligns with your values, gives you learning and development opportunities and recognizes your amazingness. That won't come from just applying. In this workshop, you will:

    • Identify why networking matters

    • Discover how to make quality connections who won’t be afraid to teach and mentor you

    • Learn how to network remotely and in person

    • Establish appropriate questions and requests to make of your connections and what you need to give in return

    • Enhance your listening skills

    • Develop an elevator speech describing your values and superpowers

    • Activate a plan to to start building (or build on) your network

  • Giving and asking for feedback is the hardest skill to develop. It’s uncomfortable; it’s vulnerable. But done with care, it’s a propeller to growth and advancement. In this workshop, you will:

    • Understand the importance of feedback

    • Establish a framework for giving and receiving feedback

    • Learn how to ask for feedback and how to change as a result of it

    • Draw on stories from your past to forensically examine how to make feedback work better for you

    • Make it a habit: develop a plan to ask for, receive and adapt to feedback

  • Each one of us enters the workforce with beliefs about work, its meaning and its value in our lives. We have ideas—understood or covert—about what success looks like. Learn how to carry forward positive legacies to guide you and uncover ideas and beliefs that are holding you back.

    In this workshop, you will:

    • Discover your work origin story—your work heroes and heroines

    • Explore why you believe what you do about work

    • Create an ancestral “tree” to understand where these beliefs, values and definitions originate

    • Pressure-check how your work origin story may help or hinder your success

    • Challenge those beliefs that might not serve you or your future work

    • Develop clarity on your mindset towards work

    • Create a plan to leverage and amplify the positive legacies of your work origin story

  • It’s natural to want to turn away from hard conversations. But avoiding difficult discussions stagnates personal and organizational growth. Poor conflict resolution also lowers employee engagement and productivity. To promote productive conversations and be effective at resolving conflict, you must create a sense of space, cultivate curiosity and eliminate rigidity.

    In this workshop, you will:

    • Explore data showing why it’s important to speak up and engage in tough discussions

    • Come away with proven strategies and techniques for engaging in difficult yet culture- and confidence-building conversations

    • Develop confidence in raising complicated issues

    • Practice how to listen effectively and recognize the unspoken signals in conversation

    • Identify how to regulate your demeanor for optimal communication during conflict

    • Learn how to engage and ignite others in a positive, productive co-creation of solutions
